Personal Leadership Model

Emotional Intelligence

MHA FPX 5012 Assessment 4 Emotional intelligence refers to someone’s feelings and skills to understand others. Historically, expressing feelings in the workplace was seen as a distraction and an obstacle to efficiency (Goleman, Boyzis and McAki, 2013). However, individuals who fully understand and use emotional intelligence, emotions, their arguments and meanings, as well as how they can influence others. Conversely, people who lack this understanding often experience high levels of stress, and cause negative behavior towards colleagues, such as passive aggression, shouts and blames others (Ziders, Matthews and Roberts, 2012). This can create a working environment where employees feel uncomfortable and are less committed to the organization. In addition, the lack of emotional intelligence can prevent cooperation, as other people may be reluctant to share ideas with a leader who cannot control their feelings. Emotional intelligence is not just about avoiding unfavorable behavior, but also about identifying and solving struggles effectively. Leaders who are emotionally intelligent promote a successful work environment, where employees feel safe to communicate their opinion without fear of retaliation. Such leaders do not take things personally and can continue with implementation plans. The development and quality of a leader’s emotional intelligence is beyond themselves, it affects how they manage teams and interact with colleagues (Rayback, 2012).

Personal Leadership Assessment

During my period at Brevards Acardius Health, we employed several burial -approved positions through Fusion Medical Staffing and National Healthcare Staffing. In the staffing process, the agency was refunded by paying its employees and with a predetermined price by the health service organization. In July 2018, I received calls from both Fusion and National, and stated that invoices were not paid for Akardius since March 2018. They informed me that if at least fifty percent of the total balance was not paid within forty -eight hours, they would withdraw their employees. As a planner, I immediately informed our administrator and prepared for a possible staffing crisis. Almost sixty percent of our employees were entered into through these agencies, and their return will be understood to provide us with basic care per capita. I contacted all our copy summer agencies and tried tirelessly to secure the compensation as much as possible. This situation took the risk of having many employees, if the crisis was resolved, it was more than our budget levels. When I was new to the situation, I felt a lot of stress and uncertainty about dealing with the situation with my limited resources. After the reflection, I could better cope with the situation by waiting for corporate guidance, explaining the situation for the Acardius staff and seeking their help, or asking for temporary approval for high bonuses to encourage employees. These approaches can reduce excessive staffing and income waste capacity. Understanding someone’s strength and weaknesses, and how to handle circumstances, is important for personal leadership development (Daft, 2014). Identifying the skills required for improvement provides a basis for development. By seeking new information and strengthening existing skills, I can better manage stressful situations. Insight into my personal skills helps alter my perception of such situations, allowing for more effective responses.

Economic forecast affects leadership development by presenting possible financial changes. Understanding financial stability and potential financial changes allows leaders to plan and optimize (Ruben and Patel, 2017). Financial forecast helps leaders to decide how to serve consumers more efficiently, and develop integrated leadership skills for a manager’s individual brand. By combining my strength, emotional intelligence and leadership mark, my goal is to create a commitment to quality care that I manage. The final goal of any health agency is to improve the lives of those they serve. In this way, the management that produces these values in others needs to promote a goal -focused environment focused on engagement, care and quality distribution. My management method emphasizes high communication levels at all organizational levels and an open door policy.
