Justification of Selection

The regular evaluation of the curriculum will be effective in ensuring the quality of the content provided to the nursing staff along with the effectiveness of the updated content that will be necessary for the healthcare providers (Santos et al., 2022). The competency of the nursing staff can only be ensured if their knowledge and information regarding the best evidence-based practices and technological integration are updated and efficient for the better response of the patients and this can be achieved by providing effective knowledge to the nursing staff.

Organizing Design and Theoretical Framework

The design and framework provide a structural approach to the successful implementation of the cultural competency program in the clinical setting for the nursing student (Ličen & Prosen, 2023). The organizing design should be based on providing competency-based education to the nursing staff to enhance their skills in achieving improved results and enhance the nursing staff’s ability to enhance the patient response by providing advanced and high-quality care and safety to the patients. This design is based on improving the skill level of the nursing staff and providing them the opportunities to increase their proficiency in successfully improving the overall performance of the healthcare setting. The theoretical framework that will be used in providing the quality of care to the patients is based on Benner’s theory in which the skill level will be advanced by starting from the beginner level (Murray et al., 2019). This theory focuses on improving the knowledge of the nursing staff by providing them the opportunity of hands-on experience practice for a better understanding of the strategies that will be used in clinical care for the effective response of the patients. This theory will prepare the nursing staff for the competency that ill is needed in the clinical setting and healthcare industry for improved outcomes for the patients and the overall success of the healthcare organization.

Comprehensive Historical Overview

The competency-based education was identified in the 1960s for the first time to provide quality education to students the ensure their effectiveness in the work industry and make them competent for the future (Açıkgöz & Babadoğan, 2021). This approach was focused on providing advanced knowledge to the students to improve their learning outcomes and practical skills. In the 20th century, this strategy gained popularity due to the increasing demand for the effectiveness of the nursing students in the healthcare facility and the competency of the nursing staff to meet the needs of the current advanced healthcare settings and the development of new skills including the effective decision making and critical thinking skills. In 1984 the Benners theory came into existence which highlights the importance of competency and skill improvement in nursing students. This theory provides a structured approach to improving the skill level of the nursing students from the beginner pt the advanced level for better understanding and comprehensive development of the professional standards that will ensure improved care coordination provided to the patients. This theory highlights that with the appropriate advanced knowledge, the nurses will be able to increase the positivity of the outcoems of the patient along with increasing the well-being and satisfaction of the staff members regarding their effectiveness in improving the overall performance of the organization.

Major Concepts of Selected Design and Framework

The approach of the design and the framework is based on leaner leaner-centered strategy in which the focus is given to the professional development and increase in information of the nursing staff and the students (Berg & Lepp, 2023). This approach improves the confidence of the students in providing quality care to the patients during their practicum and increases the efficiency of the nursing staff for the better healthcare response of the organization. The competencies of the curriculum are defined and encourage the development of the students for the future by improving their skills, and information and improving their performance in the healthcare industry thus generating a safe healthcare environment for the patients. This approach focuses on ensuring the increasing strengths of the students and removing the student’s weaknesses by providing them with quality education and best practices necessary for professional development. This approach provides continuous evaluation of the student to let them identify and understand the lackings in their knowledge and improve their practice gaps. The framework provides the opportunity for the nursing staff and the students to engage in practicals for the betterment of their performance in the clinical settings and increase their confidence regarding the provision of health services to patients for the betterment of the healthcare industry and the improvement of the skills of the nursing staff (Alrashidi et al., 2023). By moving from the initial level of experience to the advanced level these practices increase the efficiency of the students in providing competent health and care services to the patients thus improving the health of the population.
